Some of them use a small sensor patch that you have to place on your arm. The patch basically picks up glucose levels present in the fluid between your cells that are right under your skin.

You can check the measurement readings by using a reading device or through an app on your phone. A blood glucose device simply allows the patient to monitor their glucose levels without doing a blood test.
